MY NESTING INSTINCT CUM BABY STUFFS ANALYSIS : COT OR SARONG?

To analyse the need for the baby... first you have to analyse the room u have for the baby ....

Cot jenis play pen

Buai / swing / sarong

Hensvik Cot from IKEA

Anor type of cot ... cool siap ngan cabinet

All the furniture above have to be considered or maybe reconsidered :D.  Is it really necessary for the baby?  Come, let's take a a look at the parent's histories.

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE FAMILY HISTORY WHEN IT COMES TO THE USED OF BUAI AND COT :D

Me??? As far as I'm concerned, I had never been in a swing throughout my baby / toddler years. The same goes to my sisters except for Debot.  We were happy babies in our cot.  I had never seen Anna nor Ida cried all the time to be carried out from the cot.  Mak and abah would stuff in lots of toys when we were awake and made sure that we were on time to be fed.  We had our time crawling to explore the house too :D. As for Nor, she did not use the cot nor the swing a all. Nor was lucky for she had macho men around her to carry her around to play or to put her to sleep. I could still remember Abg Murni, Jeilani, Khamim taking turns to carry her around the house.

When were were 3, we slept on our own bed are a shared bed when i had more sisters to share with.

Let's talk about my Sayang. 100% pakai buai sampai 2 - 3 years :D 100% of his siblings too... BUT Linda's children are not.

OK now is the story of the third generation... let's talk about Anna's children... all the 3 of them.. Aliff, Tsha and Ayep.  They rarely used the cot nor the swing.  Since they were breastfed, the best is to have them by their mama's  side.  They were the nenen hangers :D They do have a cot at home... but the cot is smartly used as a place to store their 2 weeks of  unfolded laundry :D

So.... what's my story then?

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE SPACE I HAVE IN MY APT

Since I am currently staying in my 1000sqft 4 bedded room apt... the space is definitely be a problem.  We want our home to be clutter free. No big bulky furniture and 'junks to hide' ... (banyak ajer yang merepek tersembunyi dan tertayang sebenornya)  The books and the files in our 2 study rooms are already a big problem to us now.  Seems like we love to keep papers receipts notes from previous years of our studying and dating years :D Not to mention all the cute stuffs my students gave me for teachers days and birthdays :D as well as the CLOTHES!!!!! Boxes of them... and our 2 cabinets. haish......

Luckily... our guest room does look like one ..... with a 3 door cabinet (penuh ngan baju I and linen keperluan rumah cam towel ker... curtain ker... dll, atas kabinet ada 4 foldable mattress) and at the corner I have the cute 8 drawer cabinet penuh ngan tudung lipat :D and is also used as my vanity table :D  Dekat dinding  pun ada lah a mirror.. and the not so artistic arrangement of apple green frames.  So.. this room is not going to be the baby's room for sure... esp when no sunlight could enter this room... bad fengshui ... bad....

My study room could be the best room to be converted as a baby room.  Tapi problemnya.... ada 2 bookshelves plus the one open cabinet to hang sayang's working clothes and a big study table.  I have to relocate all the books to somewhere else... to the hall maybe .... and that needs RM RM RM too... Kat rumah nih banyak  lagi lazy walls. I can make use of the walls to store my books... Susah susah.. buku tu sedekah ajer kat org..... Not to mention the boxes i have on top of the book shelves and plus.. the room is also the room I dry my clothes when the use of the balcony alone is not enuff..... and it is also the anor linen room... and laundry room...In short...  the multi function room...

Lazy walls????

The master bedroom is very simple... there are a king size bed ... a towel rack... 4tier toyogo plastic drawer and a 3tier shelf.... Not really a furnished room yet ... Banyak sangat yang diberangannya for the master bedroom sampai tak terbuat2 ....We planned to have a cabinet against one wall however the delivery for the cabinet took a year ..... kawan buat cabinet..... tapi dia banyak pulak musibah nya...

Feature wall macam kata Eric Leong Casa Impian tu.. memang tak ada lah dalam kamus rumah I.. merepek wall ada :D

ANALYSIS

and now we have to change the plan if we want to have the baby's cot in the master bedroom.  From a cabinet against a wall... we are considering to have an L shape cabinet... baby's cot pun dah 124cm (the one from ikea) meaning that we are going to have a very small space for our cabinet....

Buai / sarong is easy ... and it is also safe for the baby .... Banyak jugak research saying that sarong is not safe... memang pun ramai baby yang jatuh from buai... tp tak adalah yang mati....

According to my Sis Anna, cot could help a mummy when mummy is cooking or cleaning.  A baby is always safe in a cot... provided that your baby does not know how to escape the Alcatraz :D Just stuff in some safe toys in the cot and you baby (hopefully) would play peacefully with the toys :D

I'm not keeping the cot in the baby's room.. the baby's room is only meant to keep his toys and his clothes. I do not to be far from my baby ....  The cot below is a great one for the baby ... but ... the space i have beside my bed is not that spacious... Kan nak EBF for the baby ..... mana boleh duduk jauh2 from bb

The cot below memang best.... i do not have the  baby to sleep in between us... his gigantic parents :D

Further more .... I'm looking for a cot that could be used for years... the one that could be changed into a small bed when my baby is big enough to sleep alone.

Macam mimpi lah nak berhias macam bawah nih... bilik baby jadik showroom ajer boleh....

So.... i f i clean my study room... i could have the dream room for my baby ... provided that I have THE MONEY ...

ADA SESAPER NAK SPONSOR ???????

Cikgu, rasa-rasanya ruang kat tempat tinggal cikgu tuh bukannya isu yang besar, Yang paling penting tuh bayi tuh selamat dan boleh diawasi sepanjang masa kan?

Tak taulah ngan cikgu. Tapi kalau saya, berapa kecik pun bilik tidur utama, bayi tuh mesti dekat. Tak kisahlah kalo bilik jadi sempit. Biarlah tidur katil kecik sikit ker, guna almari kecik ker, asalkan boleh terus bertindak kalau bayi tuh nangis ke ape-ape kan?^^

Pantang la bagi bayi duk kat bilik seorang diri. Waktu adik saya kecik dulu pun, mak saya pandai sikit. Dier letak jer cot adik saya kat ruang tamu. kalo ade ape-ape, boleh terus meluru keluar dair bilik utama. Satu pintu jer XD Tapi dier tak tutup pintu masa tuh. :D

Moga-moga ia membantu sikit. :E

Amiin. (sapu tangan ke muka)
