KUALA KANGSAR MUZIUM

DURIAN YANG TAK BEST

THE IDEA SPARKED WHEN MAZIANNA WANTED TO SPEND HER HOLIDAYS WITH HER FRIENDS AND TO ENJOY THE BEAUTY OF MALAYSIA BEFORE EMBARKING OVERSEAS :D (KAMI WARGA PATRIOTIK). AFTER GAMBANG, KUANTAN TO MALACCA, WE THEN DECIDED TO GO TO THE LOST WORLD OF TAMBUN.

DAY 1
14 & 15 OF MARCH WAS THE DAY. AFTER SUFFERING FROM MILD DIARRHEA (I WAS ACTUALLY PREPARING MY TUMMY FOR THE YUMMILICIOUS PERAK FOOD), WE LEFT PJ AROUND 9 A.M ON THE 14TH.  IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL DAY. WE STOPPED AT TAPAH TO FUEL OURSELVES AND THEN....

WE ARRIVED  AT TAMBUN AT 12.30. A TICKET PER ADULT WAS RM38 AND WE WERE ADVISED TO WEAR SWIMMING SUITS AND NOT TRACK BOTTOM. HAIYA!!! I TOOK OFF MY SWIMMING SUIT BECAUSE OF THE DIARRHEA AND NOW I HAD TO BUY THE EXPENSIVE LOW QUALITY TIGHTS. IT WAS FOR RM22.90. SIAP UTANG KAT ISZ LAGIK. NO FOOD WAS ALLOWED... AND THUS WE HAD TO KEEP OUR "THOUGHT OF SMUGGLING THE PRECIOUS NATA D'COCO" ASIDE AND HAD TO PAY RM1 FOR HAVING SOMEONE TO TAKE CARE OF IT AND WE FORGOT ABOUT IT!!!  NEXT WAS THE FUN OF WALKING AND ENJOYING THE BLEND OF MOTHER NATURE IN A MAN MADE PARK... BEST TU....
Am imagining my dream home facing this lake... *ok...cikgu tulis biasa di sini

Tambun was fun.... but the food was not cheap and not tasty at all.... so we just ate the expensive ice cream. The game was challenging enough for me but not for Isz. Dah tuer dah.. tak macam org darah  muda... What i enjoyed most was the Water Speed Slides.  Heheheheheh..... I screamed my lungs out. The adrenaline rush in me was overwhelming which made my knees shaky and was unable to get out of the tube :D Obviously...this was another sign of me aging. Apa nak buat... badan dah tua tapi hati masih muda!! Ahakss!

After being lost at Tambun... we headed to Taiping which was 85 kms away or 1 1/2 hours journey. Meena was our GPS.  It was not easy at first because Perak's sign boards was not really helping us... We took the long way but we were not lost.

We checked in a hotel nearby Taiping Zoo; Seri Malaysia. It was a decent hotel. A 3 star hotel to be exact. After maghrib we went to the Taiping Zoo .. nite safari lah katakan... After the night safari trip, we concluded that it would be more interesting to explore the zoo during the day time for a few solid reasons...

  1. It was very dark. We could not really see the animals... I thought the rhinos were the elephants and the jumping tapir was like a wild boar :(
  2. The tram was moving fast and the loud speaker was not clear.... so we could not really hear what the driver was trying to tell... :(
  3. It was a 20 mins trip and waited for nearly 30 min... Total : 50 mins for our nite safari adventure = RM16. Not worth at all :(

Next was our food hunting activity..... Our growling tummies were so demanding that we just stopped at the first Malay stall we saw at the Taiping town area. We trusted our instinct by following the crowd and the catchy name: Combat D'Legend.  The 3 of us ordered what was meant for four.... Mee udang d'combat, nasi goreng ayam, nasi goreng cendawan, and nasi goreng paprik.  Mazianna was so worried for not being able to find the famous Mee Udang Mak Teh at Matang the following day and thus melepaskan kempunan with the mee udang here. We managed to finish everything we ordered  and pleased the stall owner.  She gave us discounts :D We spent RM25 for our dinner :D

Day 2
It rained...... so we started our day quite late. We went to Bukit Larut but to our disappointment, the ticket was finished for the day. I suggested that we just go on foot but the rest were not mentally and physically prepared for any strenuous activity. "Malas lah....3 jam tu nak naik..." was their reply.

For those who plan to go for a trip to Bukit Larut or Maxwell Hill, one has to pay for the entrance fee which is only RM7 and if you plan to go by jeep the fare is RM6 per person. The journey by jeep will take around 1/2 an hour. You can spent the whole day there before catching the last trip to the base which is at 4 p.m.  (Am planning a trip for my dear brudus here..)

Since dah tak ada rezki up to Bukit Larut.... so kita pun me'larut'kan diri around the area. There are 2 boarding schools here... SERATAS and MRSM Taiping.  The splendid scenery of MRSM Taiping caught our eyes... No wonder MRSM Taiping is among the best MRSM in Malaysia for the school's background is the great view of the Larut Waterfall....  The tranquility of Taiping would definitely help to play a major role to one's preparation for XZAMS !! Result pun chanteqqqqqq!!!

Untuk adik2 yang dapat offer belajar kat SERATAS or MRSM Taiping.... JANGAN PIKIR BANYAK!!!! DO COME AND STUDY HERE!!!
LOVE THE VIEW.... NO WONDER MRSM TAIPING IS AMONG THE TOP MRSM IN MALAYSIA (Nampak tak air terjun kat belakang tu?)

We too went to the Taiping War Cemetery which was less than a km away from the MRSM.  Taiping War Cemetery is a graveyard for soldiers (Royal Malay Regiment, Gurkhas, British and Australians troops) killed during the WW2.  The area is very well maintained and does not look as spooky as other graveyards...but still Isz refused to get down from the car to explore the area or to snap some photos..... "Takut lah kak Nem...."

Next on the agenda was the food hunting activity..or to be exact Mak Teh's Mee Udang...

hahahahha...we were lost.... however, a good Samaritan helped us. We bought her tastylicious pau and headed to Kuala Sepetang. Kata Mazianna our human GPS... "MamaNem... kita kena lalu kat Matang... kedai tu dekat menara pemancar Maxis"... She sounded as if she had been here but the truth was... she googled for the area and saw it in the famous TV3 programs, the 'trusted' Low Budget Vacation, and Jalan-jalan Cari Makan...

We ordered 3 sets of Mee Udang XXL (the size of the prawns).  The truth is Mee Udang Combat D'Legend is very much tastier than Mak Teh's. The gravy is tastier and thicker. The big prawns in the bowl was the only catch here.... but the taste is not that great....
JANGAN LUPA.... MEE UDANG COMBAT D'LEGEND LAGI KAWWWWWWWWWW!!!

After feasting our tummies with the extravaganza ABC, we headed back to Taiping to get our way to Kuala Kangsar.  First stop at Kuala Kangsar was the picturesque Ubudiah Mosque for our jamak prayer.

We went to the Kuala Kangsar Muzium but the muzium was closed...... so.... we just took some photos from outside of the muzium. Jadik lah......

Lepas tu (dah penat taip dah nih)..... we went to Sayong to get some souvenirs for our families. As for me.... i bought sth for the house... and i also bought the wajib item for any tourist to kuala Kangsar - the labu sayong. It was cheap compared to Tapah's R&R. The lamp was for RM75 and the labu sayong for RM13 but at Tapah's R&R the lamp was for RM180 and the labu sayong was for RM16. Mahal mahal....
Pose aje kat sini...beli kat kedai lain :D

Datang Kuala kangsar, one must taste the durian. Since it is not the season for our king of fruits, the durian was so expensive. I bought 3 small durians for RM20 and it were not good. Poor sayang for he did not eat the durians for the durians turned bad the following day. Bak kata Mazianna...Beli durian kat SS2 lagi sedap...

We reached PJ around 8.30.... We were tired but happy :D

Total expenses
Petrol : RM80
Tol : RM26.50 x 2
Tambun : RM38x3
Locker rental at Tambun : RM11
Ice-cream for 3 : RM9.50
Stupid game : RM10 (do not ask)
Parking : RM1
Hotel: RM190
Nite safari : RM16x3
Dinner : RM25
MakTeh's : RM42
Durians: RM10

campur sendiri dan bahagi 3 sendiri....
